An EN 50126 Risk Matrix Built to the Standard's Own Worked Example
Rather than a generic "typical" risk matrix, SAFOPS's rail template is built to BS EN 50126-1's own Annex C, Table C.9 risk acceptance categories — adjustable to your own scheme's specific bands. Each new rail project starts from this matrix as a reviewable baseline. Every cell of the shipped matrix is checked against the published table, and an automated consistency check keeps the template and its example projects from drifting apart.
Risk Category Drives the SIL Requirement
A fault landing in Tolerable, Undesirable, or Intolerable automatically carries the safety integrity requirement the standard implies for it β so a safety measure requirement is never silently missing just because a category was renamed or a matrix was rebuilt. Requirements feed the Protection and Engineering Schedules automatically, with proof-test intervals carried alongside the SIL they justify, and change impact analysis shows which requirements a proposed change would break.
Interactive Bowtie Diagrams and a Living Hazard Record
Initiating events, preventative and mitigative barriers, and consequences are modelled as interactive bowtie diagrams you can click, drag, and zoom through β hover any barrier to see its zone of influence and open deficiencies directly on the diagram, not in a separate tracker. The same model doubles as your hazard record: every safety requirement traces back to the hazard it controls, with the evidence of closure EN 50126 expects.
