Living Safety Cases for Defence Systems
Risk matrices for both Def Stan 00-056 Issue 7 and MIL-STD-882E, with fully air-gapped deployment for restricted-network environments.
Def Stan 00-056 and MIL-STD-882E Risk Matrices, Not a Forced Choice
SAFOPS ships with project templates for both defence risk frameworks in use across UK and allied programmes: Def Stan 00-056 Issue 7's goal-based risk categories and MIL-STD-882E's programme-tailorable risk assessment matrix. Pick the one your programme is contracted to, and adjust it from there. Both matrices are verified cell by cell against the published standards — MIL-STD-882E Table III included — with an automated consistency check so the template you start from matches the standard it claims.
Air-Gapped Deployment for Restricted Networks
SAFOPS runs fully on-premise or fully air-gapped, including the optional AI copilot's local engine, so nothing about your safety case has to touch a network you don't control. The same image runs hosted or on-premise, with per-project access control and a cryptographically anchored audit log — see Security & Deployment — and every project stays an open workbook with JSON export, so nothing is locked in.
Interactive Bowtie Diagrams: Every Fault Sequence Traced to Its Barriers
Initiating events, preventative and mitigative barriers, and consequences are modelled as interactive bowtie diagrams. Every edit β human or AI-suggested β is logged in a SHA-256 hash chain, giving you a tamper-evident record for MoD or programme-level safety review. Scrub back through that history with Time Machine, or freeze an approved version as a formal issue.
Software, With Safety Engineers Behind It
You don't have to adopt SAFOPS alone. Our safety engineers can do the work in the platform for you β performing the hazard identification and risk assessments, building and managing the hazard log, and maintaining the safety case argument your Def Stan 00-056 or MIL-STD-882E programme requires β from a one-off migration of legacy documents to ongoing support through design reviews and milestones. Use SAFOPS as a tool, a fully managed service, or anything in between.
