Civil aviation safety assessment, as described in SAE ARP4761 and FAA AC 25.1309, classifies each failure condition by severity — Catastrophic, Hazardous, Major, Minor, No Safety Effect — and requires the associated probability to fall below a threshold that gets stricter as severity increases. SAFOPS's aviation project template starts from this style of matrix, computing probability from your model rather than requiring it to be entered by hand, as a reviewable baseline you adjust to your own programme.
